An AWS DevOps Engineer is responsible for automating deployments, architecting AWS best practices, creating automation tools, and educating customers on AWS and Rackspace. This role involves managing cloud environments, workload optimization, and supporting various tasks across the cloud function.
Key Responsibilities
- Automate deployments utilizing custom templates and modules for customer environments on AWS.
- Architect AWS environment best practices and deployment methodologies.
- Create automation tools and processes to improve day to day functions.
- Educate customers on AWS and Rackspace best practices and architecture.
- Ensure the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment for the enterprise Lead Workload/Workforce Management and Optimization related tasks.
- Assist Rackers across the Cloud Function.
Technical Expertise
- Expert knowledge of AWS Products & Services, Compute, Storage, Security, networking, etc.
- Proficient skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, Linux, Shell scripting.
- Proficient skills with git and git workflows.
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems – experience of supporting and troubleshooting issues and performance.
- Highly skilled in Terraform/IaC, including CI/CD practices.
- Solid hands-on in Kubernetes & ELK
- Experience in designing, building, implementing, analysing, Migrating and troubleshooting highly available systems.
- Knowledge of at least one configuration management system such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet or any other such tools.
- Understanding of services and protocols, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of hosting environments, including web servers, databases, caching, and database services.
- Knowledge in the application of current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocols.
- Experienced in solutioning and implementation of Green field projects leveraging IaaS, PaaS for Primary site and DR.

- Ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences.
Education
- Required Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
Certifications
- Requires Associate level Certificates in AWS or professional level certificate.
