Job Responsibilities:
Mission of Position
The Warranty Engineer Student will provide technical support, from a engineering perspective, in the resolution of field concerns. The Student is responsible to test and diagnose electrical components alone or at their working environment to get to the Root cause of issue reported.
Team Summary
The Warranty Team interacts with the different disciplines within the Magna Powertrain Driveline
business to identify and drive effective root cause, corrective action, and preventive actions.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Electrical tests & diagnostics in Sensors, Actuators and Modules in Bench and/or Vehicle
  • Provide Root Cause Analysis and assistance in the resolution of customer concerns.
  • Review & Organize reports documented in the Warranty Management System (WMS)
  • Participate on and provide support for troubleshooting to ensure a focus on Pareto resolution of high priority customer concerns

Expected Learning Outcomes:
  • Strong experience in troubleshooting electrical issues
  • Real time work experience to identify Root Cause of issues and their Corrective Actions implementations
  • Global environment communication with Suppliers, Plant and Customer.

Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
  • Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry
  • Results, Action Oriented

  • Drive the development of new technologies to improve quality, efficiency and reduce cost.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures to ensure duties of self are performed in a safe manner.
  • Health & Safety responsibilities:
    • Understand applicable Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures in the workplace.
    • Report unsafe conditions immediately.
    • Report injuries, accidents, illnesses, near misses, property damage immediately.
    • Follow safety rules.
    • Comply with requirements for the use or operation of machines or equipment.
    • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Create a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional/technical knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain a responsive and cooperative working relationship with internal and external customers.
  • Treat everyone with dignity, trust and respect.
  • Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Further Information: Work Environment
Office environment; minimum travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
