Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Company Accountant to manage our financial records, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, prepare reports, and optimize financial processes using tools like Excel, Google Sheets, or ERP systems. This role is pivotal in maintaining accurate financial health and driving efficiency in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Manage accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and bank statements to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Handle payroll processing, tax filings (GST, TDS, Income Tax), and statutory compliance in line with Indian regulations.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closings, including ledger maintenance and audit preparation.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities; provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.
- Collaborate with HR on payroll troubleshooting, employee benefits, and expense reimbursements.
- Implement process improvements using digital tools (e.g., Excel macros, Google Sheets automation, or accounting software like Zoho Books).
- Assist in procurement financial evaluations and inventory management reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Accounting (B.Com/M.Com); CA Inter/qualified or MBA in finance preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance roles, ideally in Startup or corporate settings.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, QuickBooks, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, GST, and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
