This position is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and business functions to support Ameriprise Advice and Wealth Management function under Controllership.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Perform various accounting functions including balance sheet account reconciliations, accounting entries, accounting accruals, handling internal and external auditor requests, and various ad-hoc reporting requests.
• Perform various tasks to help support advisor compensation including; working with internal business partners to research and answer questions, supporting Non Account system testing, performing daily accounting feed suspense clearing, and other controls to ensure accurate transaction processing.
• Develop, support, and implement process improvements that create efficiencies, ensure good controls, and support departmental goals.
Required Qualification/skills:
• Accounting qualification with 2-4 years of accounting experience (R2R)
• Strong accounting, analytical, and problem solving skills
• Good communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Proficient with current desktop tools (specifically with MS Excel)
• Ability to influence, build, and maintain strong working relationships with business partners
• Reliable and Proactive approach towards business goals
• Ability to be accurate and show good attention to detail
Preferred qualification/skills:
• Knowledge of Workday accounting system
• Ability to look at processes and make improvements
• Good organizational skills – i.e. time management, ability to follow and write process documents
• Ability to apply root cause analysis to obtain origination of critical ops and financial problems and proactively apply action steps to resolve
• Advanced Excel and Access skills
• Ability to understand end-to-end process flows, systems, controls and impacts across the work they support
