This position is part of the Revenue Team, the Analyst is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate completion for a variety of accounting, and billing functions to support the Columbia Management Investment Advisers, LLC ("CMIA") revenue management.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand billing methodology and the products that drive revenue, accruals and invoicing.
- Perform various accounting functions to support the billing functions, including calculate investment management fees for a variety of product lines, accounting entries, accounting accruals, handling internal and external auditor requests, reconcile balance sheet accounts and various ad-hoc reporting requests.
- Working between locations, (US and non-US) will require team collaboration and clear hand-offs to make sure there are no billing or service interruptions.
- Perform various tasks to help support the billing functions; working with internal business partners to research and answer questions, support Account system testing, performing daily accounting feed suspense clearing, and other controls to ensure accurate transaction processing.
- Research and resolve issues quickly and with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
- Develop, support, and implement process improvements that create efficiencies, ensure good controls, and support departmental goals.
- This role possibly will continue to take on additional responsibilities over time, as opportunities and benefits are identified.
Required Qualifications/skills
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Accounting degree/diploma
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools, such as Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to generate MIS reports in PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Advanced Excel and Access skills
- Strong accounting, analytical, and problem solving skills
Preferred Qualifications/skills
- Knowledge of Workday accounting system
- Post Graduation in relevant stream
- Ability to look at processes and make improvements
- Good organizational skills – i.e. time management, ability to follow and write process documents
- Ability to understand end-to-end process flows, systems, controls and impacts across the work they support
