Intetics Inc. is a leading American technology company providing custom software application development, distributed professional teams creation, software product quality assessment, and “all-things-digital” solutions, is looking for an experienced Android SDK Developer to implement several custom features in the open-source application OsmAnd. The application has open documentation for contributors, and most of the codebase is written in Java, while routing-related components (which will be minimally affected) use C++.

The final deliverable will be used internally and will not require public release to Google Play.

Project scope
We have a detailed list of 7 specific tasks that we share only with shortlisted candidates. All tasks relate to adding or modifying in-app functionality. The scope is clear and well-documented.


Requirements
  • • 4+ years of commercial Android development
    • Strong Java skills
    • Practical experience with C++ (JNI level is sufficient)
    • Experience with navigation or GIS applications (OsmAnd, Maps SDK, map rendering, routing, offline maps, etc.)
    • Ability to work with open-source codebases
    • Good understanding of Android UI and background services
    • English or Ukrainian for communication
  • Nice to have
    • Experience contributing to open-source projects
    • Familiarity with NDK, map tile rendering, routing engines
    • Knowledge of Kotlin (optional, not required for the project)
  • Engagement model
    • Fixed-price contract
    • Full payment after successful delivery of all agreed tasks
    • Estimated timeframe: 1–1.5 months
    • If no working result is provided within 2 months, we reserve the right to consider the work incomplete and involve another developer
    • Project size is small, with a limited but clearly defined scope
    • We provide all technical details and task descriptions only to candidates with relevant domain experience
