About the role
We’re looking for a visionary Android Tech Lead to drive the evolution of our mobile experiences. This isn’t just a hands-on coding role — it’s a rare opportunity to set the technical direction, elevate engineering standards, and mentor the next generation of Android talent across multiple squads. You’ll lead from the front: shaping scalable architecture, championing Kotlin best practices, and unlocking world-class performance at startup speed.

What you'll do
- Lead Android architecture strategy across squads; own design and scalability decisions.
- Mentor and coach Android engineers, setting high bars for code quality and delivery velocity.
- Set coding standards, enforce best practices, and drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines.
- Review code, unblock teams, and elevate technical depth across the org.
- Represent Android in cross-squad and cross-functional discussions with product, design, and backend teams.
- Collaborate on Firebase, Compose, and architecture improvements (e.g., modularization, KMM readiness).
- Be a hands-on leader: dive into code when needed and always lead by example.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on Android development experience with deep Kotlin expertise.
- Proven track record of leading and delivering large-scale, high-performance mobile applications.
- Strong command of architectural patterns like MVVM and Clean Architecture.
- Expertise in scalable, modular Android codebases and automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Solid foundation in system design, app performance tuning, and modern Android development practices.
- Experience mentoring engineers, conducting impactful code reviews, and uplifting engineering standards.
- Proficient with Jetpack Compose, Firebase suite, and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent collaboration skills — able to work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Backend teams.
Good to Have
- Deep experience with Jetpack Compose to create dynamic, modern UI experiences.
- Strong grasp of Firebase services — Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, and Cloud Messaging.
- Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM) for shared codebases across platforms.
- Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Expertise in modular architecture for testable and scalable Android applications.
- Advanced knowledge in performance profiling — including rendering, memory usage, and battery optimization.
- Background in POS integrations or hospitality tech is a strong plus.
- Experience building offline-first mobile applications with resilient sync strategies.
- Passion for mentoring and enabling junior engineers through coaching and structured feedback.
