The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements
- Identify and analyze issues, make recommendations, and implement solutions
- Utilize knowledge of business processes, system processes, and industry standards to solve complex issues
- Analyze information and make evaluative judgements to recommend solutions and improvements
- Conduct testing and debugging, utilize script tools, and write basic code for design specifications
- Assess applicability of similar experiences and evaluate options under circumstances not covered by procedures
- Develop working knowledge of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with Salesforce and ETL processes will be considered a significant advantage, as will familiarity with modern AI-powered development tools.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality applications using Python/Java
- Proven 2+ years of experience in software development with a strong focus on Python.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools for data integration.
- Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and platforms (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Devin) to enhance productivity and code quality.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and technologies.
- Work effectively in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in Python, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence.
- Experience in programming/debugging used in business applications
- Working knowledge of industry practice and standards
- Comprehensive knowledge of specific business area for application development
- Working knowledge of program languages
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Good Data and Database knowledge, CICD process and job schedular
Experience with salesforce and mainframe is advantage
Knowledge on Version Control Systems(GitHub/Bitbucket) and Quality Centre.
Support COB, Data refresh and such application related activities
Development and implementation of Production incidents and Maintenance requests
Coordinate with business analysts & user communities to define requirements
