Role Summary

The Assistant Manager – Operations for Charge Posting is responsible for overseeing and managing the charge entry process within the medical billing cycle. This role ensures accurate and timely posting of charges to patient accounts, compliance with payer guidelines, and adherence to organizational standards. The position involves team management, process optimization, and coordination with other RCM functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor daily charge posting activities for multiple clients or facilities.

  • Ensure accurate entry of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes based on clinical documentation.

  • Validate charges against payer rules and client-specific requirements.

  • Manage a team of charge entry specialists, including training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.

  • Allocate workload and ensure productivity targets and quality benchmarks are met.

  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and payer-specific guidelines

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and minimize denials due to charge errors

  • Identify gaps in workflows and implement process enhancements for efficiency

  • Collaborate with IT and other departments to automate and streamline charge posting.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on charge posting productivity and accuracy.

  • Analyze trends in denials related to charge posting and implement corrective actions.

  • Act as a point of contact for client queries related to charge posting.

  • Participate in client meetings and provide updates on performance metrics.

  • Achieve the Team KPI metrices following up on improvements

  • Achieve the TAT, Quality as per the SLA’s

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any domain

  • 7+ years of experience in medical billing with at least 2 years in charge posting.

  • Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding

  • Strong knowledge in payer guidelines.

  • Proficiency in billing software NextGen and Clearing House software Waystar Zirmed

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
