Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of IT assets, from procurement to disposal, ensuring all stages are properly documented and managed.
Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, and licenses. Regularly audit and reconcile asset data to ensure accuracy.
Procurement Support: Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure IT asset purchases align with company standards and budgetary constraints. Provide input on vendor selection and contract negotiations.
License Management: Manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and optimize license utilization. Track license entitlements, renewals, and expirations to avoid compliance issues and unnecessary costs.
Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and maintain IT asset management policies, procedures, and standards. Ensure policies are aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Auditing: Conduct regular audits of IT assets to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Prepare for and support external audits related to IT asset management.
Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize IT asset utilization and reduce costs. Analyze asset data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Reporting and Analytics: Generate regular reports on IT asset inventory, utilization, and compliance. Provide insights and recommendations based on asset data analysis.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, such as infrastructure, security, and help desk, to ensure seamless IT asset management processes. Collaborate with non-IT departments to understand their IT asset needs and provide support.
Education: Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience: 7+ years of experience in IT asset management, with a strong understanding of IT asset lifecycle processes.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in using IT asset management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, SolarWinds, or similar).
Strong knowledge of hardware and software licensing models.
Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks.
Data analysis and reporting skills.
Certifications: ITIL Foundation certification.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
