About this role

About BlackRock Global Client Business
BlackRock’s Global Client Business (GCB) is responsible for the strategy and distribution of our investment solutions—including open-end funds, closed-end funds, alternatives, and managed accounts—through partnerships with financial intermediaries. Our teams span the U.S. and Canada, EMEA, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate to join the China Offshore Wealth team within GCB. This team is dedicated to expanding BlackRock’s wealth distribution footprint and deepening client relationships across the region.

The successful candidate will support the team in managing key wealth clients based in Mainland China and the Hong Kong SAR, driving the commercial success of cross-border initiatives such as QDII, QDLP, GBA WMC, and MRF. This role plays a critical part in building and strengthening strategic partnerships with leading financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with senior team members to manage client relationships and support account development, with a focus on the China wealth management segment.
  • Oversee day-to-day sales support activities and ensure smooth execution of client service tasks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders—including Legal, Compliance, Operations, and BlackRock China affiliates—on cross-border projects and sales enablement.
  • Coordinate with regional and local marketing teams on product launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Prepare regular reports, support due diligence processes, and analyze sales data to identify opportunities and flag potential issues.
  • Conduct industry research and provide timely, thoughtful responses to client inquiries.
  • Deliver performance data and respond to client queries on products and investment solutions.
  • Create and maintain high-quality sales presentations and marketing materials.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in investment management or alternative asset management, ideally with exposure to cross-border initiatives (e.g., QDII, QDLP, MRF, GBA WMC).
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and the ability to articulate investment ideas with conviction.
  • Solid knowledge of the asset management industry, particularly in the wealth and retail segments.
  • Experience working with clients in sales or product strategy roles, with familiarity across mutual funds, ETFs, alternatives, and digital solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage clients and support brand-building through marketing and PR initiatives.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills; prior experience representing a firm at conferences or events is a plus.
  • Regulatory licensing and exams as required by local authorities.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin a must, Cantonese preferred, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented team player with a “can-do” attitude and a strong sense of ownership.

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
