We are looking for a Discovery and Translation Science Associate Consultant to join our Discovery and Translational Science (DTS) Consulting Services team. This is a unique opportunity to support innovation in biomedical research by providing data science services to clients ranging from major pharmaceutical companies to biotech start-ups. The team consists of more than 30 consultants within Clarivate Life Science Consulting Services reporting to DTS Consulting Manager. We have a great skill set in applying a wide range of data management, computational and systems biology tools to understanding of human disease and development of novel therapies. About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
- At least 2 years of experience in a professional setting
- Proven experience in Data Science, Bioinformatics, Computational or Systems Biology or a related field
- Experienced user of R and/or Python, and Linux/Unix command line with strong understanding of statistics and data analysis
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Life Sciences required with a strong computational component (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology) or in Computer/Data Science with a strong Life Sciences component.

- Applied your computational biology skills in the context of human disease and drug discovery research.
What will you be doing in this role?
- Data analysis. You will conduct data analysis and synthesis to support project objectives using established methods and advanced analytical tools to generate actionable insights.
- Delivery. You will support consultants on project execution, coordinate tasks, managing timelines, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality consulting services.
- Client meetings. You will engage in customer interactions and meetings, with oversight, to understand customer needs, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Project proposals. You will support proposal development by contributing to specific elements of the proposal. And you will collaborate with consulting teams in problem-solving and development innovative solutions tailored to customer needs and strategic goals.
About the Team
- We are a growing team of more than 30 consultants mostly based in Barcelona, Spain with some team members based throughout the rest of Spain and US.
- We provide a wide range of bioinformatics services supporting clients from big pharma to small biotech start-ups, often leveraging Clarivate’s unique content in drug discovery and translation.
- Our work is mostly focused on understanding of disease mechanisms, identification of novel targets and translational medicine support through discovery of biomarkers and patient stratification.
- We also run two consortia with major industry partners around implementation and benchmarking of bioinformatics and Systems Biology algorithms.
- The team culture is dynamic with focus on collaboration and mutual support.
Hours of Work
This is a permanent full-time position at 40 hours a week. The working schedule is flexible, mostly centered on CET time zone with occasional need to accommodate late meetings with time zones. The position is hybrid going to the office in Chennai 3-4 times per week.
