About this role

Aladdin Data is responsible for enterprise data and analytics for BlackRock and its Aladdin clients. We also develop and operate the platforms that produce, distribute, and govern enterprise data and analytics. Our goal is a largely automated, cloud-native platform that radically transforms our data and analytics supply chain, making it faster, easier, and cheaper to discover, access, and leverage data and analytics for asset management.

The Data Product Execution team manages the delivery of Data Product projects and associated project governance and reporting. Execution managers are responsible for crafting a path for  deployment that realizes benefits with minimal disruption to clients and internal consumers, in collaboration with the wider Data Product Delivery team. They are also responsible for stakeholder engagement, communicating the project’s progress while articulating the business benefits of each milestone and highlighting potential blockers or risks. They need to harness not only core project management skills but knowledge of data management, technology development, operational improvement, and financial asset management as well as the ability to communicate clearly in writing and in speech to all levels of the organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with stakeholders including Data Stewards and the Engineering team to understand business priorities to correctly sequence deployment.
  • Act as a contact point for stakeholders ensuring project progress is visible and accessible.
  • Actively promote the Reference Data roadmap to partners, articulating the benefits and key results we are delivering.
  • Provide periodic updates on the progress and outcomes of each PI to the SLT highlighting wins, risks and blockers.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services with exposure to project and program management
  • Solid understanding of asset and risk management and financial instrument modelling across a reasonable subset of fixed income, equities, derivatives, and alternatives
  • Ability to flexibly balance priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong financial and quantitative abilities with attention to detail
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly to stakeholders
  • Exposure to agile methodology, data management, or service management, a plus
  • Exposure to asset management systems, preferably Aladdin, a plus
