Associate Infrastructure Engineer Position Summary

Fluke is seeking an Associate Infrastructure Engineer to support the company's enterprise infrastructure, cloud, identity, and workplace technology environments. Reporting within the CISO organization, this role provides an opportunity to build hands-on experience across systems administration, infrastructure operations, cloud technologies, and technical architecture while working alongside security, infrastructure, engineering, and business teams.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Fluke Security, Fortive Shared Services, and other Fortive Operating Companies (OpCos) to support enterprise platforms, improve operational reliability, enhance security posture, and ensure technology solutions align with both business and cybersecurity requirements.

Operating within a shared-services model, this role serves as a key bridge between Fluke, Fortive infrastructure teams, managed service providers, and security stakeholders. The position combines operational systems administration responsibilities with participation in architecture reviews, infrastructure planning, technology modernization initiatives, and security-focused improvements.

This role is ideal for an early-career infrastructure professional who is technically curious, eager to learn, and interested in developing into a well-rounded systems engineer with strong exposure to security, cloud, and enterprise architecture disciplines.

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Operations & Engineering

  • Support day-to-day administration and operation of enterprise infrastructure platforms.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and coordinate resolution activities with Fortive Shared Services and other support partners.
  • Support system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management initiatives.
  • Assist with implementation, testing, and deployment of new infrastructure capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
  • Participate in Fortive infrastructure modernization and continuous improvement efforts.

Infrastructure Architecture & Planning

  • Participate in technical design and architecture reviews for new technologies, platforms, and services.
  • Assist in evaluating infrastructure solutions proposed by Fortive Shared Services, vendors, and project teams.
  • Assess operational impacts, scalability, resilience, supportability, and long-term sustainability of proposed solutions.
  • Support development of infrastructure standards, reference architectures, and best practices.
  • Provide technical input into lifecycle management and technology refresh initiatives.

Security Partnership & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Fluke's Information Security team on infrastructure security initiatives and risk reduction efforts.
  • Assist with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, identity security, endpoint management, and security control validation activities.
  • Help evaluate infrastructure solutions to ensure alignment with Fluke security requirements and enterprise standards.
  • Work with security and infrastructure stakeholders to continuously improve operational maturity and cybersecurity posture.

Fortive & OpCo Partnership

  • Collaborate with Fortive Shared Services and peer OpCos on infrastructure, cloud, and security-related initiatives.
  • Participate in working sessions to understand enterprise platforms, standards, architecture guidance, and operational processes.
  • Help evaluate infrastructure solutions and ensure alignment with Fluke business, operational, and cybersecurity requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, cloud support, technical operations, or related technical fields.
  • Demonstrable understanding of:
    • Windows Server administration
    • Microsoft 365 Suite
    • Active Directory
    • Networking fundamentals
    • Endpoint and device management (Intune, SCCM)
    • Cloud platforms and services
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and take ownership.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, matrixed, and shared-services environment.
