The Role: Network Monitoring Engineer
 

The Team: The OSTTRA Technology team is composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals, who build, support and protect the applications that operate our network.  The technology landscape includes high-performance, high-volume applications as well as compute intensive applications, leveraging contemporary microservices, cloud-based architectures

Our services are vital to automated trade processing around the globe, managing peak volumes and working with our customers and regulators to ensure the efficient settlement of trades and effective operation of global capital markets

You will have 3 - 5 years’ experience of Network Engineering to meet the needs of our expanding portfolio of Financial Services clients.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team based out of Gurgaon and to work with colleagues across multiple regions globally.

Responsibilities:

  • As a network engineer you will be a member of OSTTRAs global network infrastructure team that is responsible for our office, data Centre and cloud network infrastructure. 

  • You will be involved in all aspect of our network infrastructure lifecycles and work with design, implementation and maintaining our network. 

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related subject or the equivalent in knowledge and work experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with networks operations and architecture.

  • • Implement and configure monitoring solutions using Grafana and Prometheus to visualize network performance and metrics. This includes setting up

  • ⁠Prometheus as a data source to collect metrics from various network devices and services.

  • Design and maintain Grafana dashboards that provide real-time insights into network performance, traffic patterns, and system health, allowing for quick identification of potential issues.

  • Utilize Prometheus's powerful querying language (PromQL) to create custom alerts and notifications based on specific thresholds and conditions, ensuring proactive monitoring of network health. •

  • Utilize additional network monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, and PRTG to enhance overall network visibility and performance.

  • Integrate AlOps network monitoring tools to leverage artificial intelligence for proactive issue detection and resolution.

  • Monitor network performance, identify anomalies, and provide timely alerts on critical issues.

  • Collaborate with network engineers to optimize network configurations and troubleshoot performance-related problems.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for network monitoring processes and procedures.

  • Analyze network traffic patterns and provide insights for capacity planning and performance improvements.

  • Implement automation solutions to streamline network monitoring processes and enhance operational efficiency.
