Job DescriptionRequirements
- Experience : 5+ Years
- Strong experience in Java backend development, including building RESTful APIs.
- Hands-on experience with FHIR and SMART on FHIR standards, including implementing FHIR resource models and data transformations.
- Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, and interoperability workflows.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams involving frontend developers, BAs, and clinical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in testing practices—unit testing, API testing, integration testing, and UAT support.
- Experience with DevOps tools and practices: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms.
- Strong understanding of security and privacy standards in healthcare (HIPAA, PHIPA, GDPR).
- Ability to produce clear technical documentation for APIs, architecture, and FHIR implementation guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based backend services and RESTful APIs for FHIR/SMART on FHIR applications.
- Implement FHIR resource models, data mappings, and transformations for EMR/EHR and clinical registry integrations.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and clinical teams to convert healthcare requirements into scalable backend solutions.
- Ensure interoperability with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and clinical registries using SMART on FHIR standards.
- Participate in unit testing, API validation, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Apply DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), automated deployments, and cloud infrastructure management.
- Optimize backend performance and ensure data integrity while implementing security and privacy best practices aligned with HIPAA, PHIPA, GDPR, and other regulatory standards.
- Document backend architecture, APIs, and SMART on FHIR implementation guidelines for development and operations teams.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
