JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Work closely with the Senior Associate and AVP to make assigned projects to the highest possible standard.
- Understand and implement job description and meet all KPIs
- To QC subtitle files from freelancers and in house subtitlist.
- To perform re cut for any subtitle files according to channels’ request accordingly.
- To produce concise translation and subtitles with correct and faithful representation of the original text.
- Maintain the project quality and consistency and deliver within timeline.
- Comply with and ensure teams comply with Astro codes of conduct, policies and procedures and Malaysian workplace laws and regulations
- Supports the overall company’s strategy in providing quality programming localisation that increase subscribers, subscribers’ viewing satisfaction and helps the company in pushing for more relevant local content.
- Ensure subtitling meet clients’ requirement and standard.
- Be aware of technological advancement and development in the world of subtitling.
- Ensure local broadcasting rules and regulations are adhered to, carefully observe cultural sensitivities and language, legal issues, copyright and privacy.
- Assist on daily operation administration as required and expected.
- Maintain and foster a respect for Astro, its people and values at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
WHO YOU ARE:
- Candidates must possesses at least a Diploma in Translation or Degree in Translation/ Language or Linguistics
- At least 1 year working experience in related field is required for this position.
- Strong language skills(read and write) in BM, English and Chinese language
- Candidates with proficiency in Chinese dialects such as Cantonese and Hokkien as well as such as Japanese, Korean, Bahasa Indonesia, Tagalog, Spanish and Italian are strongly encourage to apply.
- Some TV broadcasting knowledge with editorial and scripting skills. Eye for details, able to handle pressure and on tight dateline
