Your Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Internal Audit Data Analyst with strong expertise in the design/ implementation of analytics, operational metric dashboards and other special projects, in support of internal auditors and process improvements. This role will support all phases of the audit life cycle (i.e. risk assessment, planning, scoping, testing and reporting).
You will work in a dedicated Data Analytics team that is constantly evolving their work and is a crucial part of shaping the future of the Internal Audit function. The Data Analyst will also work collaboratively with other Aptiv data teams/functions to capitalize on knowledge and information sharing. You’ll work primarily with SAP data (soon migrating to S/4HANA from ECC6), along with the potential for other ERP systems to analyse, test and present the data to stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have at least 8+ years of experience and hands-on skills in Alteryx, Tableau and Internal Audit along with exposure to emerging AI capabilities to support advanced audit analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Use data analytics tools (i.e. Tableau, Alteryx and SQL queries) to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing. Analyse large volumes of data while documenting complex processes and applying knowledge toward data analytics script design;
- Develop and maintain a library of standard and repeatable analytics tests and dashboards to support financial, operational, IT and SOX audits including transactional sampling, identification of outliers and metrics for risk assessment;
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to continually refine and enhance existing analytics and identify new opportunities to further drive audit effectiveness and efficiency using technology. Build data visualizations using Tableau to communicate insights and outliers found on business data to audit and/or management;
- Provide proactive consultation in creating solutions for identification of internal control weaknesses and regulatory compliance issues through the use of data analytics tools (e.g. Tableau, R, Python) and machine learning techniques (e.g. K-means clustering, Neural Network);
- Maintain, support and improve the audit planning, scheduling and timekeeping tools being used by auditors globally, by using low-code platforms such as SharePoint Lists, MS Power Apps, MS Access and MS Excel Power Query;
- Assist in conducting timely special investigations into any allegations of impropriety regarding company assets/information;
- Train and support internal audit team members on the use of analytic tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, Excel, etc.
- Implement AI on existing Tableau dashboards for automated insights, enhancing audit analytics by identifying emerging trends and possible process issues.
Your Background
- Qualification in Data Analytics/Data Science/Computer Science/Accounting/ Finance/Mathematics;
- Minimum 8Yrs to 12Yrs of business experience. Highly advantageous if includes experience within the Big 4 professional services companies, either in the external audit, internal audit, IT audit, consulting or risk advisory/assurance services.
- Working experience writing scripts in SQL and using visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI).
- Previous experience with automation tools (like Alteryx or Tableau Prep), as well as machine learning models and methodologies (like R and Python) is desirable.
- Knowledge of accounting, finance principles and Sarbanes-Oxley legislation/ requirements is desirable.
- Experience with reports and raw tables’ data from SAP (ECC 6.0 or S/4HANA) would be an advantage.
