Overview:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Solution Architect to design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using AWS services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud architecture and a proven track record of delivering high-quality cloud solutions.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Architectural Design: Design and implement scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions using AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway).
- Client Consultation: Engage with clients to gather requirements, provide technical guidance, and recommend best practices for cloud adoption and migration.
- Technical Leadership: Lead architectural reviews and provide technical direction to development teams, ensuring alignment with established AWS standards and practices.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment plans, and operational procedures.
- Performance Optimization: Evaluate existing cloud infrastructures and identify opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
- Availability and Reliability: Design and implement strategies to ensure high availability and reliability of cloud solutions, including failover mechanisms, disaster recovery, and redundancy planning.
- Security Compliance: Ensure that cloud solutions adhere to industry security standards and compliance requirements, implementing necessary controls and monitoring.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, DevOps, development, and operations teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest AWS developments, tools, and methodologies to continuously improve cloud architecture practices.
Technical Skills:
- AWS Services: Proficiency in AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, and others.
- Cloud Architecture: Strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices and design patterns.
- Security Standards: Knowledge of security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- DevOps Practices: Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
- Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Networking: Understanding of network architecture, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, and load balancing.
Experience:
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on AWS solutions.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud solutions for enterprise-level applications.
- Experience working in a client-facing role, providing technical guidance and consulting.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into cloud solutions.
- Lead architectural discussions with development teams to review designs and ensure best practices are followed.
- Create and update architecture diagrams and documentation for cloud solutions.
- Perform assessments of existing cloud environments and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams to discuss project progress and technical challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) is highly desirable.
