Who we are
The Client Portfolio Management team is responsible for evaluating potential LDI products, solutions and services to meet the client’s objectives given their unique liability profile and risk appetite. The Client PM team ensures that clients and prospects receive timely, accurate information about the firm, the market and their specific portfolio. This team is also responsible for gathering intelligence about emerging trends to deliver relevant market insights and innovate products as client needs evolve.
The Liability Driven Investment (LDI) business is a distinct part of Global Fixed Income which leverages the breadth and depth of the entire fixed income platform when delivering solutions for our clients. BlackRock has been managing LDI mandates for over 20 years in the EMEA region.
What you will be doing
- Implement client specific LDI strategies, focused on UK and Dutch clients. Specific stages that you will be responsible for:
Day-to-day portfolio management activities including:- Ensuring that client portfolios are invested in line with their investment objectives and risk targets.
- Engaging in portfolio restructuring activities and new client implementations.
- Engaging with trade planning, post trade processing, and trade queries.
- Monitoring portfolio risk reports and performance and investigating exceptions.
- Demonstrate subject matter expertise by handling complex ad-hoc client requests, both quantitative and qualitative, in relation to the impact of the financial market developments on client portfolio positioning
- Play a prominent role in producing portfolio optimization and trade modelling output for client RFPs and pitch materials to contribute to business growth.
- Produce daily, periodic, and ad-hoc investment and portfolio analytics for clients and senior portfolio managers and strategists
- Drive innovation projects to redesign and optimize the current investment process
- Supporting client and investment consultant activities
- Contribute to ad-hoc strategic initiatives and projects.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of financial services or asset management experience
- Good understanding of financial markets, statistics, institutions and institutional investment strategies
- Coding skills – Expert knowledge of Python and VBA a must
- Interest in portfolio and risk management. Exceptional attention to detail
- Intellectual curiosity, with a genuine inclination for quantitative analysis
- High level of integrity to become a trusted partner to clients and peers
- Bachelor’s degree required. Progress toward CFA and/or CAIA a plus
- MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint, are essential skills
- Demonstrated record of academic achievement, work ethic, and leadership
- Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
