Drivetrain is looking for a Content Writer to join our Marketing team. This role will help scale our publishing across blogs, LinkedIn, Substack, and YouTube while holding a very high bar on quality. This individual will take ideas, research them thoroughly, get the substance right, and turn it into content that is clear, well-structured, and genuinely useful for a finance audience. A key part of the role is depth: taking a dry or technical topic, going deep enough to write about it with real credibility, and making a smart, skeptical, time-poor CFO want to keep reading.
Fluent prose is cheap now. Your value is the bar you hold: the research rigor, the judgment to tell substance from filler, and the care to know whether a piece actually worked. The ideal candidate is as comfortable going deep on an unfamiliar subject as they are writing about it clearly, and collaborates across the growth, product, and design teams to publish at volume without dropping the bar.
What you'll be doing
Take ideas and topics, research them thoroughly, and turn them into clear, well-structured, useful content.
Write across formats: blog posts, LinkedIn, Substack, and YouTube scripts.
Go deep on technical and finance-adjacent subjects and write about them with credibility.
Help scale our publishing volume while holding a very high bar on quality.
Care whether each piece worked: that it got read, ranked, and shared, and learn from what did and didn't.
What you'll bring
1-3 years in content writing or editing, and you genuinely care about content that works.
Excellent written English and a sharp eye for clarity, structure, and tone.
Strong research ability. You can take an unfamiliar, technical topic, dig in, get it right, and write about it with depth and credibility.
Curiosity about business and finance, or at least the comfort to go deep on dry B2B subjects week after week.
Super organized and proactive. You don't wait to be told what's blocked.
Eager to learn and build a long-term career in marketing.
