Position Overview

Love learning about technology at a deep technical level and working with authors and other subject-matter experts to help share their knowledge with others?
DZone, a TechnologyAdvice Media Brand, is looking for a Copy Editor to join our growing team! In this role, you’ll work with our team on site content, publications, and community initiatives with the goal of publishing high-quality, relevant content that will resonate with our thriving developer community. You will help prepare articles for publication, assist in coordinating authors and reviewers, work directly with contributors to help improve their articles, and assist in the execution of our top-level strategies.
As DZone focuses on delivering high quality technical content covering all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), a basic understanding of the software development topics, languages, and best practices such as Java, DevOps, Kubernetes, AI, and Web Development technologies is a plus.

What you'll do
- Copyedit and prepare articles and premium content for publication on DZone.com
- Work directly with our contributors to help improve their articles - both from a writing and topical perspective
- Monitor the DZone support and editors inboxes, answer inquiries, delete spam, and escalate issues to appropriate departments within DZone
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to suggest articles and publications to be featured in various DZone newsletters
- Update the DZone site pages daily with fresh content and build relationships with contributors by notifying them when their articles are spotlighted
- Work with appropriate stakeholders to recommend contributors for DZone community programs and premium product authorship
- Assist with other DZone team projects and initiatives as needed
Who you are
- You are passionate about good content. You have superior copyediting and proofreading abilities and you have a strong familiarity with the nuances of American English spelling conventions (all including judgment and initiative to investigate the best way to express technical concepts you've only just encountered)
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a genuine desire and well-earned confidence to engage with highly experienced software professionals
- Superb web research skills
- Organized professional who can handle multiple projects at once. You’re a multi-tasking champ with great time management and communicates regularly on task progress.
- Ability to work with and meet high-stakes deadlines
- Team player who can work easily with multiple team members. You can quickly jump into a team and hit the ground running.
- A willingness and strong desire to learn
- Basic HTML knowledge is a plus
- 1+ years of experience in editing for web channels or prior work experience with a publishing company
- Degree in English, Communication, Writing, or Publishing preferred
- Must have a working laptop/pc and internet and back-up connection
- Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward

Salary Range
We seek to hire top-tier individuals and intend for our compensation to be at a rate that allows us to recruit and retain individuals who align with our core values, purpose, mission, and vision. Final total compensation is based on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to, skill level, relevant experience to the position, and cost of labor.
Hourly pay range
₹165—₹234 INR
