The Pricing Analyst manages pricing strategies for corrugated products, analyzes pricing options, recommends changes, ensures accuracy, and communicates with various departments.
Job Summary
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for preparing and managing sales prices and strategy for the corrugated products and services. The pricing analyst calculates sales prices using labor and material data from various sources (plans, material summaries, history, and other documents), and creates detailed proposals and price lists to be used by the sales teams.
Works under general direction; relies on experience and judgment to accomplish tasks; exercises discretion and judgment on work priority on a regular basis; and a wide degree of creativity is required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyzes and documents options for calculating sales price and provide recommendation consistent with company goals
- Recommends changes to pricing and/or list of materials as needed
- Develops a process to standardize the creation of pricing lists and material lists as needed
- Provides problem-solving solutions using Building Codes and product information
- Gathers information from our systems and other departments
- Develops procedures and focuses on their implementation to achieve departmental goals
- Ensures documents prepared are detailed and accurate
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge on market material, labor and delivery costs
- Resolves various problems while identifying opportunities for improvement
- Communicates effectively with other departments within the group (Design, Estimating, Sales, etc.) to hit deadlines
- Ensures material and practices meet all UFP policies, procedures, and applicable law
- Communicates to employees and management as required
- Prepares reports and maintains records as required
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
- Minimum of high school diploma; however, a bachelor’s degree in accounting, math or finance, is preferred
- 5 years of experience in costing or estimating in corrugated market is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience managing people is required.
- Working knowledge of Amtech is preferred
- Proficiency in the use Excel and Access is required
