Responsibilities
Responsible for helping to define the product vision, prioritize features, drive the development, adoption, and strategic direction of the Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Marketplace solutions, both built on Informatica's IDMC platform.
This role emphasizes bridging the gap between business needs and technical implementation, managing relationships and dependencies with other Product Owners and teams to ensure a seamless and integrated data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Product Leadership

  • Define and maintain the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Enterprise Data Catalog and Data Marketplace.
  • Create a roadmap that translates the product vision into strategic goals, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Ensure the roadmap aligns with organizational priorities, including technical, regulatory, and market considerations.
  • Prioritize features and capabilities based on business value, user needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Drive organization-wide adoption through effective change management and robust stakeholder engagement.
  • Certifies the development team understands and delivers on product requirements
  • Confirms the product meets customer expectations.


IDMC Platform-Specific Responsibilities

  • Oversee implementation and optimization of IDMC's scanning capabilities across diverse data sources (cloud data lakes, data warehouses, on-premises systems).
  • Manage the deployment of AI-powered CLAIRE features to enhance automated data discovery, classification, and profiling.
  • Coordinate the integration of the business glossary with the Data Catalog and drive governance through metadata standards.
  • Optimize data quality and profiling capabilities for enhanced data trustworthiness and usability.


Stakeholder Management & Cross-Product Collaboration

  • Collaborate with related product areas, ensuring smooth integration and alignment:
    • Data Security & Access Management (Immuta or the like).
    • Identity Access management (SailPoint or the like).
    • Data Governance and Stewardship Initiatives.
    • Core Data Platforms and infrastructure teams.
  • Foster cross-team relationships to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide architecture.
  • Drive decision-making processes around dependencies and integration points.


Product Development & Agile Execution

  • Maintain and prioritize a comprehensive product backlog with clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with development teams and scrum master to ensure successful delivery
  • Ensures the product meets customer expectations.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and ensure transparent delivery of promises.
  • Provide timely status, risk, and issue updates at daily stand-ups and weekly reports.


Essential Skillset
Data Management Fundamentals:

  • Understanding of data catalog and marketplace concepts and best practices
  • Knowledge of metadata management principles
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks
  • Understanding of data quality concepts
  • Basic knowledge of data modeling


Product Strategy & Execution

  • Product roadmap development and management
  • Backlog prioritization and management
  • User story creation and refinement
  • Sprint planning and Agile methodology
  • Release planning and feature rollout


Stakeholder Management

  • Managing relationships with other product teams (Immuta, SailPoint, etc.)
  • Executive communication and presentation
  • Requirements gathering and analysis
  • Cross-functional team coordination
  • User feedback collection and analysis
