About the RolePlatform Science is looking for a Data Engineer for our Core Product Development team in Chennai. In this role, you will be heavily involved in the design and development of data solutions leveraging Power BI and Snowflake.
You will apply advanced data mining techniques, perform statistical analysis, and build high-quality prediction systems integrated directly into our global software products to transform raw IoT and telematics data into actionable business intelligence.
Essential ResponsibilitiesData Mining & Feature Engineering: Select key features, build and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques, and perform data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
Pipeline Integration: Extend the company’s data infrastructure with third-party sources of information and enhance data collection procedures to include all data relevant for building robust analytic systems.
Data Quality Assurance: Process, cleanse, and verify the integrity of large-scale datasets used for downstream analytics and predictive modeling.
Analysis & Automation: Perform ad-hoc analysis, present insights clearly to stakeholders, and build automated anomaly detection systems while continuously tracking their performance.
Agile Collaboration: Act as an active member of an agile development team, participating in Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and the collective execution of work items.
Team Communication: Communicate transparently about your daily tasks and any obstacles encountered, while freely giving and receiving technical assistance within the team.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data science, or advanced data analytics.
Core Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Power BI and Snowflake.
Programming Languages: Core coding skills in Python (highly preferred) or R.
Advanced Analytics & IoT: Strong experience in IoT analytics, Machine Learning, AI, and time-series analysis utilizing streaming sensor data.
Mathematical & Operational Modeling: Solid background in Mathematics and Statistics, including Operations Research (e.g., Hidden Markov Models), Linear programming, optimization algorithms, and complex problem modeling.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective cross-border collaboration.
Mindset: A fast-learning self-starter with a deep passion for adopting new technologies and a strong sense of ownership to get things done.
Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities.
Team Dynamics: A reliable team player who works seamlessly within a small team environment but remains fully capable of delivering high-quality, performant solutions independently.
