We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to perform the administration, automation, modernization, and cloud transformation activities of our enterprise database environment. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Oracle technologies, hands on experience with Azure or AWS or GCP cloud migrations, strong proficiency in DevOps tools and scripting languages, and a basic understanding of how AI-driven insights and AIOps can elevate operational efficiency.
Functions may include database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration; as well as data modeling, big data development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development, storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning and other similar roles. Responsibilities may include Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solution with a focus on data stores and associated eco systems. Duties may include management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing needs assessments. Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Manages relationships with software and hardware vendors to understand the potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies and data acquisition. May design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting and helps to support development of Analytics and Applications that build on top of data. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Generally work is self-directed and not prescribed.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Database Administration & Optimization
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup and recovery, and security hardening of 19c/23ai/26 ai
  • Administer and support large-scale Oracle environments including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and Multitenant
  • Conduct advanced performance tuning using AWR, ASH, ADDM, SQL tuning, and optimizer analysis
  • Manage schema design, index optimization, partitioning, and storage architecture
  • Hands-on on implementation and management of ZDLRA for database backups/recovery
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery
  • Architect and maintain HA/DR solutions using Oracle RAC, Active Data Guard, Cascaded standby, and Azure-based DR tools
  • Conduct DR drills, failover testing, and maintain compliance with RTO/RPO objectives
  • *Azure Cloud Migration & Modernization
  • Use tools such as Golden Gate, RMAN, Data Pump, and cloud-native migration frameworks
  • Modernize traditional databases to cloud-native architectures including PaaS and Autonomous Database or Exadata in Azure/AWS/GCP
  • Optimize cloud cost, performance, elasticity, and operational reliability
• DevOps, Automation & Scripting
  • Integrate database operations with DevOps pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Terraform/ARM Templates, and Ansible
  • Automate database provisioning, patching, monitoring, and performance diagnostics using Python, Shell/Bash, PowerShell, and PL/SQL
  • Implement IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code) for repeatable, consistent deployments
• AI & AIOps Enablement
  • Leverage AI-driven tools for anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, capacity forecasting, and intelligent alerting
  • Utilize Oracle Autonomous Database capabilities and Azure AI services for proactive performance insights
• Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Enforce RBAC, encryption, auditing, patch compliance, and vulnerability management
  • Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams during audits and risk assessments
  • *Monitoring, Capacity Planning & Operations
  • Develop and maintain monitoring dashboards, capacity plans, and proactive maintenance schedules utilizing tools like OEM/Azure Monitor
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability and operational excellence
• Collaboration & Leadership
  • Work closely with Exadata, Applications, and Security teams to deliver stable, optimized database services
  • Provide technical mentorship and documentation to junior DBAs and engineering teams
• Works with less structured, more complex issues
• Serves as a resource to others
