About the role
AGL Energy is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator to join our Telco Infrastructure Operations team . If you're passionate about database performance, security, and enabling data-driven decision-making, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic tech environment.
What you'll do -
Design, configure, and maintain scalable and secure database systems.
Monitor performance, availability, and reliability of databases.
Implement and enforce database security best practices.
Manage backups, recovery testing, and disaster recovery planning.
Collaborate with developers and analysts to support data integration and reporting.
Provide technical support and resolve database-related issues.
Offer insights to improve query effectiveness and system performance.
Maintain user access controls in line with privileged access policies.
What you'll bring -
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
5+ years of hands-on experience with MariaDB, MySQL, and MSSQL.
Expertise in disaster recovery, backup procedures, and database architecture.
Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and stored procedures.
Familiarity with data modelling, warehousing, and compliance standards.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
