About the role

AGL Energy is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator  to join our Telco Infrastructure Operations team . If you're passionate about database performance, security, and enabling data-driven decision-making, this is your chance to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic tech environment.

What you'll do -

  • Design, configure, and maintain scalable and secure database systems.

  • Monitor performance, availability, and reliability of databases.

  • Implement and enforce database security best practices.

  • Manage backups, recovery testing, and disaster recovery planning.

  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to support data integration and reporting.

  • Provide technical support and resolve database-related issues.

  • Offer insights to improve query effectiveness and system performance.

  • Maintain user access controls in line with privileged access policies.

What you'll bring - 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with MariaDB, MySQL, and MSSQL.

  • Expertise in disaster recovery, backup procedures, and database architecture.

  • Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and stored procedures.

  • Familiarity with data modelling, warehousing, and compliance standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
