About the team

The team is part of Capital Markets Tech CoEs, helping our businesses bring product to market more efficiently with UX, Data and Delivery acceleration through guidance, special interest groups and shared source.

As FinTech software evolves and customer expectations grow based on client’s experience of modern consumer software an intuitive and modern user interface (UI) is a must for any digital product such as a mobile app, website, SaaS, B2B or enterprise line of business software. This is a Central Team to enable product teams to go to market faster at a lower cost, producing user centered high quality software more effectively by providing the guidance and support to allow them to implementing best practices.

What you will be doing

You will be dedicated to a product or product line while working under the UX Center of Excellence team. You will have the opportunity to:

• Work closely with internal product managers, business teams, developers and other stakeholders to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals
• Manage and maintain design strategy and explore solutions from concept to completion
• Translate complex design problems, user pain points and research findings into practical and impactful design solutions, especially in the financial domain
• Quickly convert concepts and ideas to working POCs using the design thinking process
• Quickly visualize and prototype ideas to communicate concepts, conveying design ideas via sketches, wireframes, hi-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes to the customer
• Rapidly test and create iterative designs that meet project objectives and fit within the FIS Brand
• Wearing a customer hat while designing solutions
• Be responsible for the delivery of usable, accessible and high-quality designs
• Host design thinking sessions within the scrum teams to analyze user needs and requirements
• Run Design Quality reviews, Usability testing and track the progress
• Lead CoE charter including collaboration, workshops and publishing
• Participate in hiring progress and mentor the junior team members

What you bring

We need organized, highly technically skilled, motivated self-starters, with deep experience of the modern stack and a track record of delivery.  Core skills are:

• 8-10 years of experience in UI & UX Design with a proven track record of success
• Ability to clearly articulate a problem space and design a solution that meets the user needs and business goals
• Ability to quickly incorporate feedback and efficiently produce high-quality professional designs
• Ability to think holistically about the UI and scale in the future
• Self-starter and ability to work without much supervision
• Ability to accurately set, manage and meet deadlines
• Expert in using design & collaboration tools such as Figma, Miro or similar
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of management in an organized & professional manner
• Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to facilitate better collaboration with the development team

Added bonus if you have

• Previous experience working with product based organizations
• Familiar with responsive design, accessibility principles and usability testing
• Experience working with remote and cross-functional teams
• Good eye for detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
