Insights & Analytics Engineer 2, Developer Experience

As an Engineer 2 on our DevX Insights & Analytics team, you will be enabling Comcast developers in faster delivery of reliable, performant, and scalable software products. You will be a [technical leader/key contributor] on the team, having input on technical design decisions and serving as a liaison to our stakeholders, primarily other development teams. The Insight & Analytics team is made up of a supportive group of engineers and analysts from all walks of life. We work with DevOps teams, internal cloud infrastructure teams, security teams, program management and leadership to deliver enterprise-wide value to support the software development lifecycle. We are an experienced group of technical minds who excel at solving uncharted data-driven challenges to improve the developer experience.

What you will do
As an Engineer 2 on the DevX Insights & Analytics team, you will bridge the gap between data from source systems into a business intelligence engine. Integrate data feeds between producer and consuming systems. Develop scripts to ensure data quality and consistency. Implement security and privacy protocols. Innovate solutions to do more than we can imagine, including machine learning and artificial intelligence.
You’ll be working alongside experts at Comcast where we deliver an insights recommendation experience that will enable hundreds of devops teams to deliver more for our businesses, in less time and with improved quality. Responsibilities
- Actively participate on a DevOps team to run and maintain DevX’s insights platform.
- Perform daily health checks of data engineering and dashboards while taking appropriate remediation activities when there are issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and that data feeds are properly managed and the platform operates as expected.
- Monitor the team intake ticket queue and slack support channel. Provide support or engage with appropriate team members to bring issues to resolution.
- Provide excellent customer service to existing customers and act as a product evangelist for prospective customers.
- Partner with the Product Delivery team to operate product roadmap items that bring new features, reliability, and stability to our platforms.
- Participate in regular scrum/iteration planning and backlog grooming sessions.
- Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
What you will bring
- 3+ years of experience developing, deploying and supporting software products
- Experience with a variety of scripting languages including Python
- Experience with SQL (Oracle, MSSQL), data structure, modeling and processing
- Experience with data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools such as SSIS
- Experience with data User Interface tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, OBIEE
- Knowledge writing core programming languages such as Java or C/ C++
- Knowledgeable of the software development lifecycle
- Strong communicator and able to clearly articulate complex issues and technologies
- Great design and problem-solving skills
- Willing to take ownership of problems and see them through to resolution
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced agile environment. Requirements change quickly and our team needs to constantly adapt to moving targets
- Enthusiastic self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset, proven history of execution and delivery, and well-developed business acumen
- Experience with agile methodologies using Jira, or a similar platform for scaling agile development practices
- Effective working independently and in a team environment, both onsite and virtual
- Relevant Computer Science coursework or alternative experience/equivalent
