Job Description

Mandatory Skills : Java, Fullstack,Microservices,MQ,PostgreSQL,AWS

Full Stack Development experience in Java, Webservices, ReactJS, MySQL/PostgreSQL/any equivalent RDBMS, messaging frameworks (Kafka preferred/JMS/SQS/RabbitMQ), Cloud (AWS preferred).
Functional Programming experience is a big plus.
Experience in Clojure highly preferred.
Exposure to AI/ML desirable

Core Responsibilities

  • Release Manager Roles and Responsibilities

    The Release Manager is responsible for the efficient and reliable delivery of software releases across the organization's diverse application portfolio, which includes multiple teams and technical stacks. They play a crucial role at the intersection of development, operations, and business, ensuring that software builds are created, tested, and deployed effectively.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Release Planning and Strategy:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain a comprehensive release schedule, identifying dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies.
    • Understand the business context and technical details of each application to predict and address potential release issues.
    • Coordinate with DevOps, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to align release artifacts, deployment pipelines, and environment changes.
  • Version and Dependency Management:

    • Maintain a centralized repository of application versions and dependencies, enforcing consistent versioning conventions.
    • Ensure the compatibility of external system integrations and manage the impact of dependency updates.
  • Release Packaging and Deployment:

    • Work with development teams to package release artifacts (code, configs, migrations) for seamless deployment.
    • Orchestrate the deployment of releases across environments, leveraging automation to move towards continuous delivery.
    • Collaborate with SRE and Infrastructure teams to execute database migrations and infrastructure changes.
  • Release Testing and Quality Assurance:

    • Ensure comprehensive testing suites are in place and executed as part of the release process.
    • Validate the integrity of release artifacts, including database migrations and infrastructure changes.
    • Streamline the release validation process, working towards eliminating the need for manual "Go/No-Go" meetings.
  • Scrum Ceremonies Management:

    • Manage and run all Scrum ceremonies (Refinement, Planning, Daily Standup, and Retrospective) for the teams involved in the software release process.
    • Ensure effective collaboration, communication, and alignment among development, operations, and business stakeholders during these ceremonies.
  • Continuous Improvement:

    • Conduct post-release reviews to identify areas for process optimization and automation.
    • Implement lessons learned and industry best practices to enhance the release management function.
    • Monitor technological trends and collaborate with teams to incorporate new tools and techniques.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management:

    • Serve as the central point of contact for all release-related inquiries and concerns.
    • Proactively communicate release status, risks, and mitigation strategies to development, operations, and business stakeholders.
    • Maintain release-related documentation and ensure its availability to all teams.
  • Enforcement of Policies and Procedures

    • Approving source code changes—this operation is managed through configuration files scattered throughout the codebase
    • Specifying the actions to be performed during the release process
    • Creating a new release
    • Approving the initial integration proposal (which is a request to perform a build at a specific revision number in the source code repository) and subsequent cherry picks
    • Deploying a new release
    • Making changes to a project’s build configuration
  • The Release Manager's technical expertise, business acumen, and collaborative approach, including their ability to manage Scrum ceremonies, are crucial in delivering software releases efficiently and reliably across the organization's diverse application portfolio.

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Computer Engineering (Required)
