SigNoz is a global open source project with users in 50+ countries. We are building an open-source observability platform which helps developers monitor their applications and troubleshoot problems, quickly.

In less than a year of our launch, we have reached 23000+ Github stars, 7000+ members in the slack community and 180+ contributors.

Why us?
  • Opportunity to work in a global dev infra product

  • Backed by YC and some of the prominent VCs in the Bay Area

  • We are completely remote. No offices

  • Founding team member opportunity - build customer engineering function from scratch

What we are looking for

This is not your typical DevOps role. If you're looking for someone to just manage infrastructure without customer interaction, you should stop reading now.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Technical enough to solve complex distributed systems problems - you need to debug OpenTelemetry instrumentation issues, optimize ClickHouse performance, troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, and architect solutions for observability at scale.

  • Customer-focused with engineering mindset - you will work directly with platform teams and SREs, helping them implement observability solutions and solve technical challenges they're facing.

  • Great at building infrastructure and processes - you will create tooling, automation, and processes that help both our customers and internal teams operate more efficiently.

  • Someone who can scale technical operations - you will build the foundation for customer engineering function and grow into leadership as we scale.

  • Comfortable with community engagement - you'll contribute to our open-source project, engage in technical discussions, and help other engineers in the observability space.

Who would be a good fit
  • 3+ years experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or SRE roles working with production systems at scale

  • Strong learning skills - you can quickly pick up new technologies and dive deep into complex technical problems

  • Hands-on experience with observability tools - SigNoz, Grafana, Prometheus, DataDog, or similar platforms

  • Production Kubernetes experience - managing clusters, troubleshooting deployments, understanding networking and storage

  • OpenTelemetry knowledge - understanding of instrumentation, collectors, and distributed tracing concepts

  • Programming skills - can read, write, and debug code in Go, Python, or JavaScript

  • Cloud platforms expertise - AWS, GCP, or Azure with infrastructure automation experience

  • Customer-engineering mindset - enjoy helping other engineers solve technical problems

Who may not be a good fit
  • Candidates who are fresh out of college

  • DevOps engineers who only want to work on internal infrastructure

  • Those uncomfortable with open-source community engagement

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
