POSITION PURPOSE

The Digital Designer is a technical event web and app specialist responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining event websites, mobile apps, and related digital assets, primarily within the Cvent platform. This role blends front-end development skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with event technology expertise to deliver seamless, branded, and functional digital experiences for YPO’s global events.

The Digital Designer works closely with event managers and stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and execute projects within short timelines (typically 1–2 weeks per event). The role also provides training, documentation, and system support to ensure consistent adoption of best practices and data integrity across platforms.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Event Website & App Development

  • Build and customize event websites within Cvent Flex, ensuring alignment with YPO branding, functionality, and stakeholder goals.

  • Develop and troubleshoot front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to enhance templates and solve design/technical challenges.

  • Create, configure, and maintain event apps, attendee hubs, and other hybrid/virtual technologies.

  • Oversee mobile app projects from kick-off through launch using Cvent, SpotMe and other event technologies.

  • Thoroughly test websites and apps prior to launch to ensure functionality, accuracy, and user experience.

Graphic & Visual Assets

  • Create and modify digital graphics and event-specific assets using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) or similar tools.

  • Apply UI/UX best practices to improve attendee experience across web and mobile platforms.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and event managers to capture requirements, consult on design and functionality, and deliver solutions aligned to event objectives.

  • Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, typically across a high annual volume (~150 events).

  • Communicate effectively with global teams, flexing to international time zones and schedules.

Reporting & Data Integrity

  • Generate event reports within Cvent based on requirements and share with stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with Digital Services to ensure data integrity and smooth integration between Cvent, Salesforce, and other related platforms.

  • Maintain and update event templates, SOPs, and documentation based on current best practices.

Training & Process Improvement

  • Onboard and train new associates in Cvent functionality and procedures.

  • Deliver ongoing updates, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing to enhance team adoption.

  • Partner with People Leader to translate stakeholder requests into well-defined configuration and/or development tasks.

Professional Relationships & Industry Awareness

  • Build strong relationships with external vendors (e.g., Cvent, SpotMe, Bizzabo).

  • Stay current on new Cvent features and industry best practices, acting as an early adopter and subject matter expert for new tools.

  • Provide support onsite at events as needed.

SKILLS

  • Proficiency in Cvent Event Management (Flex registration, attendee hub, mobile apps, reports, and portals).

  • Cvent Advanced, Virtual/Hybrid, and Mobile App certifications preferred.

  • Strong front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript with ability to troubleshoot and enhance event templates.

  • Knowledge of UI/UX design concepts and responsive design principles.

  • Basic knowledge of XML/XSL and familiarity with multiple web application systems.

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, InDesign) or equivalent tools; advanced Photoshop expertise a plus.

  • Experience in database management, execution, and maintenance with an understanding of data hierarchy and integrity.

  • Excellent English communication skills with ability to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across global teams and time zones.

  • Ability to lead presentations, training sessions, and demos for stakeholders and team members.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience with project planning, analysis, design, and implementation.
    Familiarity with collaboration and project tracking tools such as Salesforce, ClickUp, MS Teams, and Zoom.

  • Ability to develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documentation.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; adaptable to changing priorities and comfortable working under pressure.

  • Willingness to work flexible or extended hours to support global stakeholders across time zones.

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

  • 5+ years of professional experience in web development, digital design or event technology required.

  • Front-end coding expertise (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) required.

  • Experience managing stakeholder relationships and translating business needs into technical solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with Cvent highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, etc.); strong design ability a plus but not primary.

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with short delivery timelines.

  • Prior experience in the events industry very helpful but not required.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Web Development, Graphic Design, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Cvent Event Management or Cvent Mobile App Certification preferred.

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite or similar digital manipulation programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours as needed to accommodate members and team members in multiple time zones.

  • Ability to work for extended hours at a computer screen.

  • Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally; up to 25%

  • Ability to support events onsite as needed.
