Payments Network Technology is seeking a Director of Software Engineering to lead engineering teams delivering secure, reliable, and scalable payment-network capabilities. The role combines people leadership, technology direction, delivery accountability, and cross-functional partnership.
Roles and Responsibilities• Lead and develop multiple engineering teams, including managers and senior technical leaders.• Set engineering direction aligned with product priorities, architecture standards, resiliency, security, and operational objectives.• Own delivery outcomes across a portfolio of services, balancing customer commitments, technical investment, risk, and capacity.• Build an inclusive, accountable engineering culture through hiring, coaching, succession planning, and career development.• Partner with Product Management, Architecture, Operations, Security, and dependent programs to resolve priorities and delivery risks.• Establish measurable standards for quality, automation, release readiness, reliability, and continuous improvement.• Communicate portfolio status, risks, trade-offs, and decisions to senior leadership.
Essential Skills• Experience leading managers and multiple software engineering teams.• Experience with large-scale, highly available platforms and modern software engineering practices.• Working knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, cloud-native delivery, CI/CD, and observability.• Ability to translate business strategy into executable engineering plans and organizational priorities.• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
