About the Team

Our Talent Acquisition team is a strategic partner to the business, focused on identifying and engaging the talent that powers Workday’s innovation. In Chennai, our team plays a critical role in scaling our Product and Technology functions, ensuring we apply a high-standard, differentiated approach to how we select and onboard new Workmates.

About the Role

We are looking for a Director of Talent Acquisition (Product & Technology) to lead our growing team in Chennai. This is a newly created leadership position designed to scale Workday’s technical presence in India. You will be responsible for driving a high-impact recruitment strategy that aligns with our global product and engineering milestones, ensuring we attract top-tier talent in a competitive market.

In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to our Engineering and Product VPs, helping them navigate talent capacity planning and headcount forecasting. You won't just be managing a team; you’ll be implementing transformative, design-led hiring practices that improve the candidate experience and streamline our internal processes.

As Workday continues to invest in Chennai as a key hub, you will play a central role in maintaining our high standards for technical excellence and belonging. About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 18+ years of full-cycle technical recruiting experience, with at least 5+ years leading high-performing teams in a high-growth, product-centric environment.

  • 5+ years of experience designing and executing tech-hiring roadmaps that consistently meet ambitious engineering milestones.

Other Qualifications

  • The Strategic Partner: You translate complex headcount needs into actionable technical personas. You are a peer to Site Leaders and VPs, helping them navigate talent markets and capacity planning.

  • Data-Driven Optimizer: You don't just report numbers; you find the story within them. You use data to diagnose funnel bottlenecks, improve pass-through rates, and elevate the candidate experience.

  • Operational Excellence: You bridge the gap between TA, Finance, and HR. You are comfortable managing HC budgets, forecasting, and resource planning in a dynamic ecosystem.

  • Champion of Culture: You lead with empathy and a "win as a team" mentality. You are a tireless advocate for Belonging & Diversity, ensuring our teams reflect the global community we serve.

  • Brand Ambassador: You are proactive, highly organized, and live the Workday values. You don’t settle for "good enough"—you aim for excellence every day.
