The position requires collaboration with developers, product managers, UX designers, and business analysts to deliver client-focused, high-quality solutions. The engineer is expected to build skills in test automation frameworks, drive consistency in test practices, and contribute to a culture of quality across the SDLC.
Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results

- Collaborates with developers, product managers, UX designers, and business analysts to ensure quality is built into the product lifecycle.
- Learns from senior team members and applies best practices in test automation.
- Acts as a contributor to quality discussions within the team.
Client
- Ensures that testing strategies support business requirements and end-user needs.
- Translates requirements into testable scenarios for automated and manual validation.
- Identifies defects, communicates potential risks, and partners with the team to resolve issues.
Value
- Builds and maintains reliable automated test suites to improve release confidence.
- Tracks and reports on test outcomes to support release decisions.
- Suggests improvements in testing processes, tools, or practices to increase efficiency.
Education and Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in software quality engineering with exposure to automation for web and API-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with at least one automation framework (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, SpecFlow, Katalon).
- Familiarity with Agile development practices and CI/CD environments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in C#/.NET Core/Java/Python/TypeScript
- Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks: Katalon, Selenium, Playwright, SpecFlow.
- Experience with API testing tools: Postman, JMeter.
- Basic SQL skills for data validation.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
Certificates and Licenses:
- QA or automation-related certifications (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) are a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Expected to mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability development
