The Engineer in Production Control & Logistics is responsible for leading warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to APTIV OS standards, managing inventory using the SMS, providing training to staff, and optimizing processes. Engineer - Production Control & Logistics
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Lead and supervise the daily operations of the Raw Material (RM) warehouse during the assigned shift.
- Ensure effective communication between warehouse, production, and other departments to meet operational goals.
- Act as the main point of contact for warehouse staff and coordinate tasks to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure compliance with APTIV OS standards for warehouse processes, including safety, material handling, and inventory management.
- Operate and manage the SMS (Warehouse Management System) for tracking inventory levels, stock movements, and material transactions.
- Supervise the receiving, storing, and issuing of raw materials to meet production and operational needs.
- Maintain accurate records of all warehouse transactions, including receipts, issues, and stock levels, using the SMS.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies to ensure stock accuracy.
- Enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment as per APTIV OS standards.
- Ensure adherence to operational cleanliness and housekeeping standards in line with APTIV OS guidelines.
- Provide training and support to warehouse staff on SMS usage and warehouse best practices.
- Handle and resolve operational challenges promptly and escalate issues to management as necessary.
- Optimize warehouse operations through continuous improvement efforts, focusing on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Ensure the efficient management of materials by using SMS for tracking, reporting, and improving material flow.
- Authorized to supervise and manage daily warehouse operations during the assigned shift.
- Empowered to implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with APTIV OS standards.
- Authorized to enforce safety and operational standards, ensuring compliance with APTIV OS and warehouse protocols.
- Can recommend training and development initiatives for warehouse staff to enhance operational effectiveness and SMS usage.
- Authorized to propose process improvements in warehouse operations, aiming for enhanced efficiency and cost savings
Education and Qualification :
- Bachelor's Degree
- 4 - 6 years of experience
Skills required :
- Strong Leadership Skills: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively to meet warehouse objectives.
- Knowledge of APTIV OS Standards: In-depth understanding of APTIV's operational standards, safety protocols, and quality practices to ensure compliance in daily operations.
- Proficiency in SMS (Warehouse Management System): Expertise in using SMS for inventory management, material tracking, and reporting to streamline warehouse operations
- Inventory Management: Skilled in managing stock levels, order fulfillment, and material movement to meet production requirements.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth warehouse functioning.
- Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with team members, departments, and suppliers to ensure alignment and resolve issues.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to maintain accurate records and monitor stock levels to avoid discrepancies.
- Safety and Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety standards and ability to enforce safe working practices within the warehouse environment.
