The Engineering Analyst 2 is an intermediate level position responsible for a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and enhancement of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure quality standards are being met within existing and planned frameworks.
 

Technologies In scope: Oracle Database, Ansi  SQL, Middleware (Tomcat and WebSphere).Role:Candidate will perform an Application Database support Role.

The prime responsibility of this team is to ensure consistency, uniformity, and streamlined processes for App support functions and latest Infrastructure deployments to maintain the application stability.

General Responsibilities:

The resource(s) will work for the EMEA Infrastructure engineering support team, which provides infrastructure services like

Oracle Database, Middleware (Tomcat and WebSphere)., ETL - Abinitio and Release tool for various regulatory applications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an Engineering role preferably from a Reputed Software firm or Financial Institution.
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a large complex and/or global environment.
  • Application Management / Administration experience.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of design metrics, analytics tools, benchmarking activities and related reporting to identify best practices.
  • Demonstrated analytic/diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and partner with virtual teams.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage to tight deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
  • Proven track record of operational process change and improvement.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.

Detailed Responsibilities of the role:

  • Coordinate with App team for new setups,
    • Tablespace creation
    • Schema creation
    • Copying Schema
    • Stored Procedures
    • Views and functions
  • Troubleshooting frontend portal and the backend tables related to it. (Functionality)
  • Good SQL (Oracle) hands-on
  • App config management
  • Report Generation function.
  • Calendar function
  • Analyze logs to figure out the issue and drive towards solution.
  • Restore of Database upon request.
  • Remediate DB related compliance issues.
  • ASM disk/storage expansion post assessment of cleanup options.
  • Gather capacity analysis upon request or after monitoring alert; request to cleanup/add ASM DB device.
  • System Performance / Capacity Management
  • DB Refresh
  • Coordination with Sector DBA on new DB / Table / Schema creation
  • Knowledge on Cyberark
  • Raising project tickets for ordering the DB and decommissioning based on demand.
  • Perform checkout after DB VTM patch / Urgent fixes roll out.
  • Managing the Jira/Tickets/Requests and follow through closure.
  • Knowledge on ServiceNow Ticketing Tool
  • Knowledge on Release Management Process
  • Identify and track Continuous Improvement opportunities.
  • Involve in reducing / eliminating non-value add activities and automate the repetitive tasks to increase agility and improve service level.
  • Proper coordination via email / phone with Global / Supporting teams related to Database and Portal services.
