In this role
As a Chapter Lead, you’ll lead a small team of engineers designing and building REST APIs for the CommBank App, while remaining hands-on with the code. You will be leading with a purpose in recruiting, retaining, and developing top engineering talent while promoting psychological safety, autonomy, and mastery.
Here, you will be aligning your chapter’s goals with our ambition to become a global leader in Agentic and Gen AI at scale. You will be a role model in the use of Gen AI tooling and techniques, enabling your team to accelerate delivery and improve outcomes.
Key responsibilities will also include:
Create structured, recurring opportunities for engineers to learn, collaborate, and build capability especially in AI Powered Engineering.
Set and monitor individual development plans focused on AI skill progression across the Full Cycle Engineering Job Framework.
Role model the use of Gen AI tooling, encourage experimentation, and remove fear or uncertainty around AI’s impact.
Foster a mindset of growth and learning through social forums like Chapter Time and Hackathons.
Build a high-performing chapter by attracting top talent and supporting their career development through structured learning pathways.
Use available metrics to track progress, identify gaps, and provide targeted support to accelerate capability uplift.
We are interested in people who have
Proven experience leading engineering teams in complex, fast-paced environments.
Passion for uplifting capability, driving engagement, and simplifying developer experience.
Deep expertise in REST API design and development, with hands-on proficiency in: .NET Core, Microservices, Typescript, Node Js, NextJs and modern CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with Gen AI tooling, prompt engineering, and AI-enhanced development workflows.
Ability to balance people, culture, and technology to deliver resilient systems and delightful customer experiences.
