The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) Finance Team has a Financial Analyst opportunity supporting the Supplier Financial Risk Mitigation (SFRM) team. This high-impact role offers a dynamic opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams-including GPSC, Treasury, Technical Accounting, Legal, and Customer Care & Aftersales-to identify and address financial risks within GM's supply base. Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Legal, Treasury, and Technical Accounting to design and execute targeted supplier funding solutions
- Design, implement, and maintain robust internal control processes to safeguard financial integrity and ensure compliance with corporate policies
- Conduct financial statement analysis to evaluate the risk profile of GM's global supply base
- Act as a strategic finance partner to purchasing and supply chain operations, supporting risk-informed decision-making
- Monitor evolving macroeconomic trends, geopolitical risks, and industry shifts to assess financial implications for supplier exposure and supply chain continuity
Desired Skills
- Leverage resourcefulness and independent judgment to drive new ideas, concepts, projects, and improve processes in a fluid and ambiguous environment
- Strong business acumen, analytical capability and project management / organizational skills
- Perform balance sheet analysis, net income statement analysis, cash flow statement analysis, knowledge of debt structures, etc.
- Proactively work to resolve issues and move projects forward
- Ability to analyze data to draw key insights
- Strong data analytical skills - advanced Excel, Power Query and PowerBI are preferred
- Strong understanding of US GAAP rules is preferred
- Experience navigating SAP financial systems is preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to teamwork and partnerships
Additional Description
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- At least 3+ years of work experience in corporate finance, accounting or audit; direct restructuring experience is a plus
- Strategic mindset, strong communicator, independent self-starter
- Comfort working closely with cross-functional teams
- Clearly communicate complex financial analysis and recommendations to executive leadership
