IMC is looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Amsterdam office, reporting to the CFO in Amsterdam. This role is integral to our small, high-performing team and involves close collaboration with stakeholders across various departments and regions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, while keeping oversight of the strategic processes and goals of the organization.
In this hands-on role, the Financial Controller will be tasked with a broad range of responsibilities including budgeting, forecasting, bookkeeping, managing accounts payable / receivables, regulatory and management financial reporting, as well as accounting operations. Your Core Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual regulatory and management financial reporting, ensure all aspects of general ledger integrity and balance sheet substantiation
- Book keeping, managing accounts payable and receivable
- Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Own the cash management process including supplier and intercompany payment
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax filings and compliance with all tax regulations
- Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting, and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate and execute day-to-day accounting activities
- Assist and cooperate for process improvements and automation, ensuring the correctness of data, timely efficient reporting and compliance
- Establish and develop relations with internal and external stakeholders
Your Skills and Experience:
- Academic degree in Economics, Finance or equivalent with 5+ years relevant work experience, preferably with accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in financial control, preferably within the financial industry
- Good understanding and working knowledge of regulatory reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and investigate complex issues
- Proven ability to successfully adapt to, identify, drive, and implement change
- Highly motivated individual who has the ability to work in fast-moving and high-pressured environment
- Solid IT skills; experience with Workday (Accounting module) is a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
