About Swoop

Swoop is building Africa's super-app, beginning with food delivery. We have raised $7.3 million and are building one of the most exciting teams in Lagos.

We are now hiring our Founding Marketing Designer.

The opportunity

This role starts before the brief exists.

You will help decide how Swoop should be positioned, what the brand should stand for, and how those choices should show up across every customer touchpoint. You will shape our brand identity from the ground up.

We need someone who can identify the underlying business or customer problem, form a clear point of view, develop the creative direction, and then make the work. The role combines brand strategy with hands-on execution across graphic design, motion design, videography, and editing.

The founding part matters. You will create the visual language, systems, and standards that future designers and marketers will build on.

What you will do
  • Develop Swoop's brand positioning and creative point of view

  • Help define what the Swoop brand should mean to customers

  • Turn customer insights and business goals into clear creative strategies

  • Set the creative direction for campaigns, launches, social media, paid advertising, and partnerships

  • Write and shape strong creative briefs with a clear audience, message, and objective

  • Build and evolve Swoop's visual identity

  • Create graphic design, motion graphics, and motion-led videos

  • Plan and execute video projects, including filming, editing, and post-production

  • Create reusable design systems and templates that help the team move quickly

  • Work closely with the founders and broader team to turn ideas into clear, memorable creative

  • Maintain a consistently high standard across every customer-facing design

What we are looking for
  • Strong strategic thinking about brand identity and positioning

  • The ability to work upstream of execution and determine what the work should communicate

  • A strong portfolio showing graphic design, motion design, videography and video editing, and motion-led video production

  • Portfolio case studies that explain the problem, your thinking, and why you made the creative choices you made

  • Strong fundamentals in typography, composition, colour, and visual storytelling

  • The ability to take a project from an early idea to a finished asset

  • Good judgment, attention to detail, and a high standard for craft

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving environment with substantial creative ownership

  • The ability to work onsite in Lagos for at least two days each week

We care deeply about the thinking behind your work. Your portfolio should make your taste, range, reasoning, and execution clear.

What we offer
  • ₦700,000 to ₦1,100,000 per month

  • Healthcare

  • The opportunity to shape Swoop's positioning, brand identity, and design language from the ground up

  • A high level of creative ownership

  • The chance to work with one of the most exciting teams in Lagos

  • A hybrid working model

What you need to know about the Chennai Tech Scene

To locals, it's no secret that South India is leading the charge in big data infrastructure. While the environmental impact of data centers has long been a concern, emerging hubs like Chennai are favored by companies seeking ready access to renewable energy resources, which provide more sustainable and cost-effective solutions. As a result, Chennai, along with neighboring Bengaluru and Hyderabad, is poised for significant growth, with a projected 65 percent increase in data center capacity over the next decade.
