FULL STACK ENGINEER (ENTRY LEVEL)
Location: India | Remote
Schedule: Full-Time
EVS is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to join our growing innovation team. This role is ideal for a software developer who enjoys building modern web applications, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to tools that improve engineering workflows and business operations.
You’ll work alongside senior developers and engineering subject matter experts to develop, maintain, and enhance internal software products that support renewable energy and infrastructure projects. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience across front-end development, backend systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, spatial data, and emerging AI technologies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Software Development & Platform Support
- Develop, maintain, and enhance EVS internal software products and digital tools, contributing across user interfaces, APIs, databases, and backend services.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while participating in code reviews, technical discussions, and release activities.
- Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and contribute to ongoing improvements that enhance application reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with senior developers to learn best practices, architectural patterns, and scalable software development approaches.
Database & Cloud Engineering Support
- Support database development efforts including schema design, SQL query optimization, data migrations, and system integrations.
- Work with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and related technologies to support data-driven applications and engineering workflows.
- Assist with cloud-hosted applications and services, gaining experience with deployment, monitoring, and CI/CD processes.
- Contribute to integrations between EVS platforms, databases, and external systems.
Application & Front-End Development
- Build and enhance modern web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar technologies.
- Contribute to user-friendly interfaces that improve workflow efficiency and user experience.
- Support map-based applications, spatial data visualization, and geospatial workflows with guidance from senior team members.
- Work with asynchronous processes, background jobs, and scalable backend services that support engineering applications.
- Gather user feedback and continuously improve application usability, performance, and functionality.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- 1–3 years of professional software development experience.
- Hands-on experience developing full-stack applications with exposure to both front-end and back-end development.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including SQL development and optimization.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, code review processes, and software development best practices.
- Strong desire to learn and grow in areas such as cloud architecture, spatial data systems, web mapping, asynchronous processing, and scalable application development.
Preferred Experience
- Front-end development experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar modern frameworks.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, including services such as EC2, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS, or comparable technologies.
- Experience with spatial data and mapping technologies such as PostGIS, MapLibre, Leaflet, GeoPandas, or Shapely.
- Knowledge of asynchronous job processing, event-driven architecture, and message queue systems.
- Experience with Python and data processing libraries such as Pandas and NumPy.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and LLM integrations such as Copilot, Cursor, Claude, Gemini, or similar technologies.
- Experience within engineering, AEC, infrastructure, or technical consulting environments is a plus.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn new technologies while growing within a fast-paced development environment.
