Full Stack Developer

As a Full Stack Developer at Ciena, you will report to the R&D Data Transformation Program Manager and play a pivotal role in transforming complex data workflows into intuitive, scalable, and secure web applications. You will be responsible for full-stack development, from designing user-friendly interfaces to building robust backend systems and integrating APIs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop front-end applications using ReactJS or AngularJS, ensuring responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Implement backend services using Python and frameworks like Django or Flask.
• Transform legacy spreadsheet-based processes into seamless, interactive UI applications.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and manage data from various sources including Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Ensure application performance, security, and maintainability through best practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, IT, or a related field (or minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience).
• Experience:
  • Strong experience in full-stack application development and design.
  • Proficient in ReactJS, AngularJS, and Python.
  • Experience with UX design principles and responsive web development.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake), and version control (Git).
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Technical Skills:
  • Front-end: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, ReactJS/AngularJS.
  • Back-end: Python, Django/Flask.
  • Cloud: AWS architecture experience.
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

• Ability to translate complex Excel-based workflows into modern web applications.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills across the full stack.
• Experience with data security and application performance optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for innovation and staying current with emerging technologies.
