The Functional Test Engineer will design and execute test cases, validate data accuracy, and collaborate with teams in Agile settings. Requires 2-4 years of manual testing experience, focusing on QA methodologies and tools.
Lumel is looking for a detail-oriented Power BI Functional Consultant – QA , with 2 to less than 4 years of experience. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual testing, a solid understanding of QA processes, and preferably prior exposure to Power BI or Microsoft Fabric for data validation and analytics testing.
- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
- Design and execute detailed test cases for web and data-driven applications.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing.
- Validate data accuracy, reports, and dashboards (including Power BI where applicable).
- Identify, log, track, and retest defects using defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams for quality assurance.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage and maintain test documentation.
- 2–4 years of experience in software testing with a focus on functional/manual testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and QA methodologies.
- Hands-on experience in test case design, execution, and defect management.
- Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA / Bugzilla or similar).
- Good knowledge of SQL for data validation and backend testing.
- Experience in web application testing.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum environments.
- Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Power BI (dashboard validation, report testing).
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or similar data/analytics platforms is a strong plus.
- Experience in BI/Data Analytics testing.
- Basic understanding of API testing (Postman or similar tools).
- Exposure to automation testing is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
