Key Responsibilities:    

  • Contributes to the feasibility analysis of product manufacturing and proposes manufacturing solutions in line with the BOP and with Quality/Cost/Delay/Volume objectives.
  • Documents manufacturing best practices and lessons learned from production and ensures they are implemented into new processes.
  • Provides technology expertise for new process development and for existing processes improvement. Solves complex technical problems on the manufacturing processes.
  •  Travels frequently to PHINIA sites abroad and to suppliers.
  • Provides Training for local Manufacturing Engineering (ME) teams in technical expertise.
  • Supports local ME teams for (and occasionally leads) the following activities:
  • Development of machine specifications and technical support to sourcing process
  • Process documentation issue/updates: PFD, PFMEA, PCP, Standard Cells
  • Qualification of machines and at supplier’s and in PHINIA sites
  • Manufacturing sites problem solving and continuous improvement activities
  • Supports welding process development and creates/updates welding specifications (EMI)
  • Supports welding machines qualification and continuous improvement
  • Leads welding look across activities with all plants

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s in engineering (Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation) or related fields
  • Experience with Laser Welding process/equipment
  • Experience with high automation level equipment
  • Experience with Assembly technologies
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Ability to read Electrical, Pneumatic and Hydraulic diagrams and Mechanical drawings
  • Strong commitment to Safety and Quality standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% regionally and internationally
  • Professional in appearance, approach, and able to work independently
  • Strong ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage projects and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
