Global Operations Center (GOC) Manager
Location: Ahmedabad, India (hybrid, supporting a globally distributed team)
Reports to: Director, Platform Engineering Infrastructure
Shift: Oversight required for 24x7 operations
About the Role
Arlo is seeking an experienced and technically strong Global Operations Center (GOC) Manager to lead a 24/7 distributed operations team spanning India and LATAM. You will oversee infrastructure monitoring, observability, helpdesk systems, and security operations, playing a key role in ensuring system reliability, service uptime, and responsive incident handling for millions of devices around the globe.
This position blends hands-on operational oversight with strategic leadership, supporting initiatives across Site Reliability, Cloud, and Security teams. The ideal candidate will bring a balance of technical depth, people management, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a 24/7 globally distributed operations team across India and LATAM.
Ensure high system availability, fast incident response, and adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
Oversee infrastructure and application monitoring, alert triage, and operational health checks.
Maintain and optimize observability tools including Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch.
Define and improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and reduce alert noise.
Integrate observability into CI/CD pipelines and automate onboarding for new services.
Drive SOC maturity and incident response using Splunk.
Collaborate with Corporate IT to enhance Helpdesk operations via ServiceNow and Moveworks.
Work closely with SRE, Cloud, Application, and Security teams on monitoring and incident handling.
Participate in postmortems and drive improvements in MTTD, MTTR, and operational reporting.
Manage hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and team development.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
7+ years in IT operations, SRE, NOC/SOC, or observability roles, with 3+ years managing distributed global teams.
Strong experience with observability and alerting tools: Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch.
Familiarity with SIEM/security platforms (e.g., Splunk) and SOC processes.
Hands-on knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS preferred), networking, VMs, and containers.
Experience with Helpdesk tools (ServiceNow, Jira) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar).
Proven ability to manage 24/7 operations in fast-paced environments.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across cultures and time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL, SRE, or observability certifications.
Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and observability during deployments.
Experience leading global, shift-based technical teams.
Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation strategies.
