About the role
Growth & New Business Manager
As Growth and New Business Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping and executing AGL’s consumer acquisition and growth strategy, driving sustainable and profitable growth in a competitive energy market.
You will lead the development of strategies and delivery of both organic and inorganic growth opportunities, including innovative, data-driven initiatives to acquire new customers and expand market share, as well as supporting mergers and acquisitions.
Working across residential and SME segments, you’ll leverage market insights, digital innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to unlock new value. You’ll partner with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations to ensure all initiatives align with AGL’s strategic objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
This role also supports M&A activities, providing strategic analysis, market scans, due diligence, and integration planning to ensure successful execution of inorganic growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute growth strategies for new customer acquisition across residential and SME segments, aligned with AGL’s Customer Markets objectives.
Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating insights into actionable initiatives for organic and inorganic growth.
Lead cross-functional delivery of innovative, data-driven programs, including new product launches, channel optimisation, and customer journey enhancements.
Manage performance and continuous improvement, defining KPIs, analysing results, and driving optimisation to maximise acquisition and lifetime value.
Engage and influence stakeholders, providing thought leadership on market trends and fostering collaboration across Marketing, Sales, Product, and Corporate Development teams.
About you
Proven experience in strategy development, business planning, or growth roles, ideally with exposure to consumer acquisition and new business development.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Strategy, Economics, Marketing, or related fields; MBA or postgraduate credentials highly regarded.
Strong commercial and analytical skills, including financial modelling, business case development, and data-driven decision-making.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities, with a track record of influencing and collaborating across diverse teams.
Background in consulting or corporate strategy and experience supporting inorganic growth initiatives (e.g., M&A, new ventures) is highly valued.
