Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a seasoned HR Support Specialist to oversee core HR operations and payroll management. In this role, you will be responsible for handling payroll processes, employee onboarding, exit management, compliance, and HR analytics across the organization. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining efficient HR functions, ensuring legal compliance, and supporting employee engagement. This role requires strong communication skills, confidentiality, and an eye for detail to support the organization’s HR strategies effectively.
Software Requirements
Required: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Workday, ServiceNow, Project Management tools (such as MS Project or Jira)
Preferred: HR analytics and reporting tools, HRIS systems other than Workday, employee engagement platforms
Experience level: 7-10 years of hands-on HR support and payroll management experience
Overall Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end payroll operations for India and global offices, including new hires, transfers, salary revisions, and database updates
Oversee daily HR operations, including employee onboarding, transfers, and employee data management
Coordinate exit processes, including asset return, clearance, No Dues clearance, and full & final settlements
Ensure timely and accurate data sharing with auditors, maintaining compliance and data integrity
Develop, update, and maintain HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies
Provide guidance and support on HR policies, employee relations, and performance management
Monitor HR metrics, prepare reports, and suggest process improvements for efficiency
Liaise with finance, legal, IT, and admin teams to ensure smooth HR operations and compliance
Handle confidential information with discretion and maintain data privacy standards
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Not applicable, focus on HR & payroll systems and data management tools
Databases/Data Management:
Experience managing HR data in Workday, HRIS platforms, and Excel-based data sheets
Cloud Technologies:
Familiarity with cloud-based HR data storage or reporting tools is advantageous but not essential
Frameworks and Libraries:
Not applicable; focus is on HR processes and systems
Development Tools & Methodologies:
MS Office Suite, HR process documentation, exception handling, workflow management
Security Protocols:
Understanding of data privacy laws, confidentiality, and sensitive data handling standards
Experience Requirements
7–10 years of HR operational experience in payroll, employee support, and HR compliance
Prior experience supporting HR functions in fast-paced, dynamic environments
Exposure to international HR operations and compliance standards (preferred)
Experience with Workday or other HRIS platforms, especially in payroll management
Hands-on payroll processing and employee data management expertise
Day-to-Day Activities
Process payroll activities accurately and timely, including new hire setups, salary revisions, and final settlements
Support employee onboarding, transfers, and exit procedures across regions
Maintain and update employee records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
Collaborate with HR, finance, legal, and admin teams to resolve issues and ensure compliance
Prepare HR reports and analytics to monitor HR KPIs and identify areas for process improvement
Conduct audits and liaise with external auditors for compliance reporting
Address employee queries related to payroll, leaves, benefits, and HR policies
Assist in developing and maintaining HR SOPs and policy documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
7+ years of HR support experience, with a focus on payroll management and HR operations
Prior experience supporting HR functions in a multi-location, fast-paced organization
Knowledge of Indian and international labor laws, compliance standards, and payroll regulations
Certifications such as PHR/SPHR or equivalent are a plus
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential data
