HRIS Analyst – Workday
Location: Chennai, India (Global Competency Center)

Overview
The HRIS Analyst – Workday plays a critical role in supporting and enhancing Barry-Wehmiller’s global Workday platform as part of the Global Competency Center in Chennai.
We are seeking a self-starter who can work independently and proactively identify improvements across multiple Workday functional areas. The role spans Core HCM, Recruiting, Absence, Learning, Compensation, Performance, Talent, Reporting, and Analytics, contributing to the ongoing optimization of our global people systems.
This is a non-customer-facing role, focused on configuration, data management, and reporting, with close collaboration across our global People Technologies and HR functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Configuration & Optimization
Configure, maintain, and test functionality across multiple Workday modules: Core HCM, Recruiting, Absence, Learning, Compensation, Performance, and Talent.
Independently assess system performance, identify enhancement opportunities, and implement improvements aligned with governance standards.
Manage change requests from intake through testing and deployment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Support Workday release management by analyzing new features, performing regression testing, and documenting impacts.
Data Management & Integrity
Maintain high standards of data accuracy through proactive audits, validations, and corrective actions.
Manage EIB uploads and mass data updates with precision and control.
Partner with the Integrations team to ensure data consistency between Workday and other People systems such as Dayforce.
Reporting & Analytics
Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards to support operational and strategic reporting needs.
Develop calculated fields, composite reports, and advanced analytics in partnership with global HRIS colleagues.
Contribute to advanced reporting initiatives using Workday Prism Analytics where applicable.
Ensure all reporting aligns with Barry-Wehmiller’s People Data Charter and governance framework.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with the global People Technologies team to align configuration standards and drive process efficiency.
Create and maintain documentation for configuration, testing, and process workflows.
Identify opportunities to streamline HR technology operations and reduce manual processes through system optimization.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
3–5 years of hands-on experience with Workday HCM (configuration, reporting, or data management).
Proficiency in multiple Workday functional areas, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Absence, Performance, or Talent.
Proven ability to manage configuration requests from analysis through implementation with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
High attention to detail and comfort managing confidential data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially within a global, virtual environment.
Preferred (Nice to Have):
Experience with Workday Prism Analytics or similar reporting tools.
Knowledge of Workday security, business process frameworks, and merit/bonus cycle configuration.
Prior experience in an HRIS or People Technologies team within a shared services or global competency center environment.
