Job Summary

The Inbound Logistics Specialist supports the development and execution of strategies and processes that enhance logistics efficiency, service levels, and organizational KPIs. This role provides analytical insights, develops actionable plans, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize inbound freight operations. Success requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

-Perform data-driven analysis to identify opportunities for improvement in inbound logistics.

-Develop and recommend actionable plans based on findings to enhance service levels and operational metrics.

-Research and propose optimization scenarios that balance efficiency, cost savings, and business feasibility.

-Manage systems and data processes and execution for lane efficiency and carrier service reporting and support automation efforts such as lane classification to improve workflow.

-Support system development initiatives to automate manual activities (e.g., lane classification).

-Identify and implement transactional automation to reduce manual workload and improve efficiency.

-Monitor and influence controls to ensure shipments meet cost and delivery targets – delivering at the right price and at the right time.

-Conduct thorough assessments of complex and intangible variables to identify core issues and deliver analysis that guides strategy and direction across major functional areas.

-Develop scorecards, reporting, and dashboards to track performance and communicate results.
-Partner with Logistics Managers, Logistics Planners, Supply Chain, SCIM Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders to drive inbound optimization strategies.
-Provide analytical and strategic support for transportation management and inbound supply chain efficiency.
 

Qualifications

Education Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or four years’ experience in foodservice, wholesale or retail distribution management roles

Experience Required:

•     Working in a heavily matrixed environment.

•     Developing structured data analytics to solve business problems.

•     Familiarity with optimization modeling and transportation management systems.

Technical Skills and Abilities

  • Advanced analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change and manage complex business environments.
  • Proficiency in quantitative analysis of large datasets using analytical tools.
  • Experience with BI/visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) for ad-hoc analysis and dashboard development preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of inbound logistics, transportation networks, and supply chain strategies.
